Gorgeous New Tech Demo From Heavy Rain Creator Impresses

If you haven’t seen Kara yet, take the seven minutes out of your day and watch the short film, courtesy of IGN. The graphics, the script, the delivery; it’s a masterpiece in mere minutes. While this isn’t an actual game in development, the footage is all running on a PlayStation 3 through Quantic Dream’s powerful new game engine. David Cage and the Heavy Rain team are masters of storytelling in games and they’ve been pushing the medium for years. While Heavy Rain is by no means an ugly game, you can tell they’ve come a long way from their last tech demo. With a lousy global economy, it’s nice to know that there’s still plenty of life left in our current consoles. Although my mind is starting to become preoccupied with thoughts of the next generation, I’d be satisfied to stick with this one for just a little while longer. My wallet won’t mind it, either, I’m sure.

Forza 4 Set To Receive a Direct Porsche Injection With May DLC Pack

It seems that Electronic Arts and Turn 10 Studios have finally reached an agreement regarding the sub-licensing of the Porsche brand. As initially reported, EA (which had previously allowed Porsches in the Forza franchise) chose not to play nice with Turn 10 in favor of promoting the newest game in their Need For Speed series. After enjoying a few months of exclusivity, however, one of my favorite car brands will finally be making a reappearance in my favorite racing sim. On May 22nd, Turn 10 will be releasing the (pricey) Porsche Expansion Pack for $20. More than just a simple DLC car pack, this expansion will weave special Porsche-specific events into the World Tour mode. It’ll be as if the gorgeous German cars were in the game from the start! While we still have a few months to go before the pack is released, check out the official Forza website in the meantime for the full details and some photos.

Who’s Your Favorite Guy or Gal in Gaming?

It’s February 14th and forced love is in the air, even here at GamerZ R’ We. Sound off in the comments section and let us know what fictional gaming icon you’d love to spend your Valentine’s Day with! Personally, I’d choose Samus Aran of Metroid series fame. Beneath that tough exterior, you just know she’s a sweetheart. And she can really heat things up with that Varia Suit of hers!
